Are You Licensed?

Yes, The Canine Guest House is fully licensed by the Wirral Borough Council. We have a 4 star license and can have 5 dog guests plus our resident dog Yogi the Labrador. 

Are You Trained In First Aid

Yes - I am Canine First Aid Trained with practical CPR training as well.

What Do I Need To Provide For My Dog's Stay?

All forms - The Consultation Form, Terms & Conditions & Vet Release Form must be signed and given back to The Canine Guest House before or when your dog is dropped off for their first stay. Up to date vaccination cards, vet details and contact details in case of an emergency must also be given to us before your dogs stay. For the duration of your dog's holiday with us, please provide their normal food plus a few days extra in case your flight is delayed etc and any treats your dog normally gets on a daily basis. Don't worry about beds, bowls or toys - we have so many here at The Canine Guest House for them to enjoy with their furry friends.

How Do I Know My Dog Is Suitable For Home Boarding?

All dogs must be sociable with people and other dogs as they will be mixing with other dog guests here at The Canine Guest House. To make sure all dogs are suitable we have a 3 step Settling In Process before your dog's stay with us to make sure they will be happy and settled on their board. Not all dogs are suitable - but thats ok! There are other options available out there if your dog doesn't pass the Settling In Period.

Can My Dog Come To Doggy Day Care As A One Off?

Only dogs who are already home boarding clients can book in for doggy day care. It can be a one off or on an adhoc basis.

How Do You Make Sure All The Dogs Get On Together?

Firstly,we have the 3 step Settling In Process which allows us to make sure your dog is suitable for home boarding, all dogs are dog friendly and happy to be away from their owners. This means when your dog stays with us, all the dogs here are ready to make new friends and go on some new adventures! We introduce all new dogs nice and slowly to make sure they all get on before they start their holiday with us.

How Much Exercise Does My Dog Get?

Your dog will have so much fun with us here! They will be out for a minimum of 1 hours walk every day with a second walk in the afternoon if the weather is nice! There will also be lots of enrichment activities and fun in the garden such as digging in the sandpit, fun in the ballpit, splashing in the paddling pool and bacon bubbles!!

How Long Can My Dog Stay For?

Your dog is welcome to stay for as long as you need us! It can be an overnight stay or a 14 day stay, we can cater to whatever length stay you need. Just make sure to check dates with us before you book your holiday to avoid disappointment.

Where Will My Dog Sleep?

Your dog can sleep where they like! We want to make your dog's stay as comfortable as possible so if that means your dog wants to sleep on a sofa or you want to bring their own bed from home thats fine with us.

Do You Accept Females In Season and Entire Males?

We are happy to accept entire males up to the age of 18 months, providing they are not aggressive or show unwanted behaviours such as humping towards other dogs. Any male over 18 months must be neutered. We accept unspayed females - but they cannot attend day care or any overnight stays if they are in season. We advise not to book any holidays around the time your dog is due to come into season.

Are You Insured?

Yes, we are fully insured for home boarding, daycare and walks with Clivertons Insurance - a specialised pet insurance company.
